Meck County reports COVID-19 child death; 2nd in NC since start of pandemic – WSOC Charlotte

A child in Mecklenburg County has died from COVID-19, Mecklenburg County Public Health Director Gibbie Harris said Tuesday.

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — A child in Mecklenburg County has died from COVID-19, county health director Gibbie Harris said Tuesday.
This is the second pediatric death from the virus in North Carolina since the start of the pandemic.
We are saddened about a situation and extend our deepest sympathy to the family, Harris said.
