HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) – Kauai Mayor Derek Kawakami says he plans to roll the county back into Tier 3 of its reopening plan amid a rise in COVID-19 cases.
The number of cases and positivity rate does warrant us to roll back into Tier 3, which we will be proposing to the governor to do, Kawakami said, in an interview Tuesday on HNN Sunrise.
Kawakami added that hes looking at fine tuning the tiers to encourage people to use outdoor spaces instead of indoors.
